FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Nudist, or clothing optional? Lake Como is a nudist or naturist resort adhering to the traditional principles of nudism or naturism, which advocate nudity as a communal norm. See “Standards of Conduct” for details.
- Why nudity? Reasons range from the philosophical to the simple pleasure of swimming and sunning without the encumbrance of useless clothing. For more, see naturism page.
- Is my interest unusual? No. A 2015 Roper poll revealed that 35% of U.S. adults have engaged in skinny-dipping or nude sunbathing, while 65% do not object to nude recreation at accepted locations. See complete 2015 poll including comparisons with earlier polls in 1983, 2000 and 2006..
- Do I have to strip as soon as I arrive? No, nudity is not mandatory except in pool and spa. However,we do not allow bathing suits or provocative clothing, which we deem incompatible with a nudist environment.
- What happens when I show up at your gate? A government-issued photo ID is required, like a state driver’s license or equivalent. You’ll be given a free guided tour. If we’re sympatico, you may stay upon payment of our daily resort fees. We offer an introductory $12/person rate for your first day visit.
- Do I have to be a card-carrying nudist? Not for your first visit. However, membership in AANR is required for a regular club membership.
- Is it safe? Lake Como is a gated facility with its own security staff. We are a family-friendly community. Visitors exhibiting inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave.
- Can I bring my pet? Pets on leash welcome, except no pit bulls, Rottweilers, or mix of either breed. Pets are not allowed in common buildings or spa area. You must clean up after your pet. We have a fenced dog park available for exercise.
LAKE COMO STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
- We are a nudist resort & community: Nudity is accepted and encouraged throughout Lake Como grounds, weather permitting.
- Nudity is required when using the pool, hot tub or sauna, for the comfort of our members & guests.
- Swimsuits, or sexually provocative dress, are not allowed anywhere on Lake Como grounds.
- Sexually provocative, lewd, rude or personally demeaning speech or behavior will not be tolerated.
- You must place your towel on any seating area before sitting if you are nude.
- Showering required before using pool or hot tub.
- Photography is not permitted except by the express approval of Lake Como management and under supervision of Lake Como staff.
- Carrying a firearm or other deadly weapon on one’s person in the resort is prohibited.
LAKE COMO ADMISSION POLICY
- Lake Como has a non-discrimination policy: singles, couples & families are all welcome, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, religion, marital status, sexual orientation or disabling condition.
- Registered sexual offenders will not be admitted.
- Persons under 18 admitted free but must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
