Dare to Go Bare 5K
Join us Sunday April 11 for the 33rd Annual Dare to Go Bare 5K
Experience the freedom of running au naturel through the 200 acres of the private grounds of Lake Como Resort. The run registration fee includes use of all resort facilities the rest of the day. Each runner is allowed to bring in 1 person not running without additional charge.
- Advance registration required
- Check-in: 7:30 to 8:45 am
- 5K run starts 9:00 am
- 2K walk starts 10:00 am
- Awards ceremony 11:00 am
ELIGIBILITY: This event is open to all ages. However, persons under 18 must be accompanied into the resort by a parent or legal guardian, and runners under 12 must be accompanied by the parent or legal guardian running with them on the run course.
AWARDS: 5K medals 3 deep men’s & women’s in seven age groups, plus men’s & women’s overall and grand master trophies ♦ 2K walk medals overall only (no age groups) 3 deep men’s & women’s
No photography: We will not be photographing this year’s run, and no photography by event participants or guests will be allowed.
TIMES: We do not publish your name or time. You can check your time on the large race time clock when you finish.
Running nude is not an absolute requirement for this event, though we have very few runners who don’t run nude.
Please note if using the resort facilities that without exception, nudity is mandatory in the pool, hot tub and sauna, and is encouraged and allowed throughout the resort grounds.
What to bring:
- Driver’s license or other photo ID
- A towel: required to be placed on any seating area on which you sit nude
- You may want to bring a folding chair, as seating is limited in the North Grove event area
Miscellaneous Info:
- Names & times will not be published. You can note your time when you finish on the large time clock.
- Water & fruit will be provided to runners.
- We’ll have some flexible wrist bracelets available if you want to carry your car keys with you.
- Showers available throughout the resort
After the run you may stay the rest of the day to enjoy all the resort facilities, including:
- Live music poolside noon to 3 pm
- Food & drink available for purchase at the poolside Bare Buns Cafe.
- Water volleyball 3-6 pm
- Karaoke 6-10 pm in the Butt Hutt bar

Advance online registration is required for all runners & walkers. There will be no registration at the event. Registration allows participation in the run, the walk, or both. The registration deadline is TBA
Run registration by TBA guarantees run tee shirt.
Discounted entry fee available to young adults age 18 to 35
Registration prerequisite:
Lake Como requires a background check for all visitors. Guests (those who are not Como residents or resort members) must call the office at 813-949-1810 ext. 0 to obtain their 7-digit background check file number, which is a required entry on the online registration form.
If we do not have a recent background check on file, there is a small additional charge to complete the background check. If you do not register online and plan to register in person at the event, please call the office 48 hours in advance of the tournament to confirm that we have a current background check on file.
